Squeeze Server Installation

Installing Squeeze Server involves the following steps:
  1. Setup your server hardware which may be a physical machine, VMWare virtual machine, Amazon EC2 instance or other virtual machine
  2. Install Microsoft® Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64), Server 2012 (x64), or Server 2012 R2 (x64).
  3. Prepare your Windows Server by running Windows Update, installing Desktop Experience, and installing QuickTime.
  4. Run the installer SqueezeServerInstaller.exe and follow the on-screen prompts below:


Read the Squeeze Server license agreement then choose "I accept the terms of the license agreement" and click "Next"


If this is the first installation of Squeeze Server choose "Create Squeeze Server Cluster . . ." This will create a database as well as an encoder server. If you are adding this install of Squeeze to an previously established Squeeze Server choose "Add to Squeeze Cluster"



Choose a user name and password for your database credentials.


It is recommended to leave the default location "C:\SqzServer\" for your destination location.



Go grab a soda or a quick snack. This step can take a few minutes to complete.


Choose "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" unless you plan to restart it again yourself shortly.

After the reboot you will be ready to start using Squeeze Server.
