MXF Output with XDCAM Format

Last Updated: Apr 07, 2016 05:36PM PDT
Sorenson Squeeze 11 now has added support for exporting MXF with an additional operational pattern: "OP1a." This compliments the previous operation pattern of "OP-Atom" introduced in Squeeze 10.

The new OP1a operational pattern allows you to include multiple tracks of audio and video that are interleaved into a single file, creating a self contained file. OP1a files can be exported by creating an MXF preset and selecting one of the three XDCAM Format Constraints.

Follow these steps to create a MXF file with XDCAM (OP1a) format:
  1. Launch Squeeze Desktop 11 on Mac or Windows
  2. Create a new MXF Preset
  3. Select one of the XDCAM Format Constraints:
    • XDCAM HD
    • XDCAM HD 422
  4. Switch the Preset Settings dialog view from Simple to Advanced
  5. Select the desired settings using the "Main Settings" drop-down
  6. Select desired Frame Rate for your preset (frame rate options are restricted by the Main Setting option from step 5)
  7. Name your custom preset
  8. Click OK to save your preset
